Have you tried Trader Joe's Cinnamon Bun Spread? It is seriously so delicious. It truly tastes like the inside of a cinnamon bun (which is the best part, if you ask me)! I've been trying to incorporate it into some fall recipes and these apple bites turned out so delicious. If you like apple fall desserts, you'll love these cinnamon bun apple bites.
Ingredients:
2 (8 oz) tubes original crescent rolls
3 Tbsp Trader Joe's cinnamon bun spread
6 Tbsp melted butter
2 Tbsp sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon, combined
For the filling:
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 green apple, peeled and thinly sliced
1 red apple, peeled and thinly sliced
1/2 c chopped pecans
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 F. In a small bowl, make the filling by combining sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans. Set aside. Open tubes of crescent rolls and lay out crescent triangles on a baking sheet. Spoon filling on to the larger section of the crescent triangle, then add about 1/2 tsp of cinnamon bun spread. Roll up the triangle to make an apple bite. Repeat this step on remaining triangles. Brush melted butter on eat bite and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake at 375 F for 11-13 mins or until golden brown. Let the apple bites cool for 5 mins, then serve warm. Enjoy as is, with vanilla ice cream, or cool whip!
This recipe makes 16 bites.
